|  | | | I totally forgot about these pictures that I took in 2007. This is Borthwen Brickworks on the North coast of Anglesey in Wales.
The works opened at the beginning of the 20th Century and provided silica bricks from the local yellow clay for the steel industry. The bricks were exported by sea, but tides created difficulties and the works closed at the beginning of the First World War.

| | | | Nice pics and incredible site, it looks like a resort of some kind. I wouldn't use the pop-up photo format anymore though, it takes away from the pictures.

I know. I hate the pop up format- but all my pictures are too big to add individually. I need to work out how to make them smaller!
