|  | | | Could you do a small Private Maessage function? That might make it easier to connect. I would suggest you make it a policy to edit or delete any post that promotes or describes anything illegal such as tagging, breaking, stealing, or "go through the hole I smashed..."
I think it might be better to use this as a FORUM and not leave everything out in the breeze for the opposition to read. (Some folks don't understand, and some folks think infiltrators are bad ppl)

I don't think Av, or any of us as a community, want to appear to advocate breaking in, vandalism, theivery, tagging, or being britney fans.
Posting a Code of Ethics and some "guidlines" for the board would be a good idea as the online community grows.
I won't ever post exact directions on how to get in the CMP cuz that would help some seven yr old that figured out how to get on the inter-web thingy a way in and a way to FALL AND DIE. As funny as that might be, we would lose the CMP, attract attention to our hobby/lifstyle, and we ALL lose in the end.
If your too dumb to figure out how to get in on your own, you are not smart enough to be exploring abandoned factories!!!!!!Get mommy to take you to playland, or take the short bus to school, stay late and walk around empty halls. Pizza Party! Pizza Party!
Posting new conquests, history notes, helpful hints, points of interest and such would be great.
How is it exploring if NVR2LOUD holds your hand, draws you a picture and holds the ladder for you?
Deleting flame wars, racist bullsh@t, and graphic instructions on how to break the law would be a good start.
Av has made a great site. I think we should talk now about how the community should evolve, and I believe Av would like the site to reflect our shared core values.

However, there is a big difference between directions to a site and directions into a site..... I usually make people email me, then a few questions must be answered before I give out exact information. It may be a cop I'm talking to, but the questions I ask usually sort out the 7 yr olds and regular people from infiltrators or potential infiltrators.
Code of ethics is a good start....
Maybe Tekriter you could read all the posts and give all of us some examples of anything we're doing wrong right now, that way we'll work on stopping this behaviour.

I am starting a semi-secret group myself and am looking for ways of sorting the members that I want from the troublemakers. Is there a way of doing this in message board software? I don't know but I think alot about it.
Also, how practical would it be to implement a moderation feature (like slashdot)? Maybe that way trusted members could moderate untrusted members or something of that sort. Moderation probably is not needed for a small community though.
For various reasons, you really do want a way to keep out unwanteds.
PMs are a good idea, especially since they do not leave tracks when it comes to search engines scanning. But that doesn't stop unwanteds from using PMs to reverse-infiltrate.
Also, the logging of IP numbers makes me feel very uncomfortable. It would be nice to know that someone would not be able to use those against me.
