Hiked back into Chariot Canyon earlier today to explore the abandoned Hubbard Gold Mines. Topographic maps show two tunnel entrances, and we found both. The northern entrance is flooded with about 2 feet of water for the first 150 feet or so.

Northern Hubbard Mine Exploration Video (Part 1):

The southern Hubbard Mine entrance is higher up on the canyon wall. Almost a vertical climb, it seemed! We discovered that these two entrances do connect up inside via a maze of tunnels and shafts and levels. We also discovered that the Hubbard Mines also connect up with the large Ready Relief Mine that is further towards the front of the canyon. Basically, the whole mountain is one huge complex of mines!

Southern Hubbard Mine Exploration Video (Part 2):

There is still much more to see and explore in these mines, so future video updates will be appearing! Also, if anyone is interested in coming down to San Diego to safely explore them further at some point in the future, let me know.
