|  | | | Poked around Treasure Island a bit yesterday... unfortunately that place is locked up tight like Fort Knox!! Couldn't really get into much. I really wanted to get into the Halls, but there is no way of getting in there without a saw or grappling hooks!!

Also would you mind showing me where those pics were taken? I'm looking at the site on Google Maps but having a hard time figuring out where those buildings are at.
Was there any form of security? nosy bystanders? patrols?

The film studios are currently occupied. They are the HUGE hangers facing the bridge. I often see filming going on out there. Never saw anyone famous.
There is security and cops. Both patrol regularly. Just have to avoid. It adds to the fun.
The question is not when are we gonna stop, It's who's gonna stop us?

I think the only real interesting buildings would be the Halls, which are boarded up really well. I only saw one security guard the whole time, and he watched me for about a minute or two when I was at the gas station. I never saw any SFPD, and it was almost too easy to get past the entry station, which I couldn't figure out why they even had one. The halls are the two little star shaped items to the bottom left of the map. Most everything else is on the other side of the island, facing towards the Emeryville side. The halls are supposed to have a center quad type area with tons of awesome graffiti... I'd love to get in there. Just not sure how.

We went in one time, the hole wasn't big enough for one explorer, so we retreated. I regret it because of course, all entries here are usually patched up quickly, and it was the next time we headed back.

Oh come on guys, swing a rope over something strong enough and put on a harness with me and we'll use the ascenders to climb it. Packing up our gear will be the hardest part of the whole day.

Ascending through a window was an option at one point. You may have to be a bit more ninja now, that spot is kinda hot.

| | | | I've been inside the hangars post BattleBots/Nash Bridges & The Hulk filming but prior to companies leasing them long-term for media productions. Wasn't much to see inside them -- no remains from the filming other than some gaffer tape & spray-paint marks, so just a biog hangar space with some small rooms on the side for storage, offices, etc.
There was another show that used an old office/workshop inside one of the hangars about two years ago. I think it aired on the Science Channel & featured a couple nerdy type guys that would challenge themselves to weird contests where they had to prototype & construct their own stuff & see if it worked.
The old dorms & class buildings probably have some neat artwork on the walls.
The place you guys really need to see is the basement level of Bldg 1 (the artsy building that was NAVSTA TI's HQ, originally designed to be the terminal bldg for the seaplane airport there). It's easy to get to by going in the main entrance & darting down the stairs when the pesky apartment/townhouse sales people aren't looking.
