| | | This was small site, used for production of piano parts and parts for the automotive industry. Production stopped here in the 1980's after following the trend that swept the UK, a wholesale lack of modernization. This lack of modernization signaled the death knell of many a engineering company in the UK.

Yeah, pretty much the same reasons that North American industry is taking such a hard ass-fucking right now too. In addition, the UK thought it would be funny to raise the cost of doing business here 25% by burying small companies in red tape and larger companies in endless H&S bullshit. (Don't get me wrong, H&S has a big place in industry; but right now it's reached 'cult religion' status and industry is hurtin'!) Chris...
We all had ostriches. My dad had an ostrich farm! I remember one day someone came in and said the high altitude bombing of Kosovo had been a limited success, so we all went out and celebrated… by killing an ostrich and boiling it in kiwi fruit. |

Did you fill in a risk assessment form before making this post, Dave? Also, under new regulations, your name has been changed to 'calculated risk dave'. Chris...
