Sadly (well, depending on your pov) very little history remains about this site but I was able to discover they made electronics, most probably something to do with automation. Of the few signs still in the building, one read "meter making area". If anyone else has any info on the site then please add it.

The site is very, very gang raped so my guess is it closed a good four or five years ago, but surprisingly little graf as yet. It's also pretty big but all largly the same. The building is part of the Power Court industrial complex which is due for demolition as soon as planning permission is finalised. It will form part of Luton's much anticipated redevelopment.

So, welcome to Orwins...

Reception.

A small factory area.

Main factory.

Details...
I've dabbled a bit in the electrical industy but I aint never heard of sm30 type fuses...

Loading bay

Torched area...

And whatever the did make here was, for certain, painted blue.

Orwin make (made?) bits and bobs for production lines and robot assembly plants. Some of the machines used in the canning process at Netsle Purina Barrhead were Orwin's, for instance.

Had to install a few parts of theirs into networks in the past!

Nice explore matey, well done!

Chris...

We all had ostriches. My dad had an ostrich farm! I remember one day someone came in and said the high altitude bombing of Kosovo had been a limited success, so we all went out and celebrated… by killing an ostrich and boiling it in kiwi fruit.
