Return to the Assembly (Mississippi Gulf Coast)

I posted a while back about a place here on the Mississippi coast, the Baptist Assembly. It was abandoned after taking heavy damage in Hurricane Katrina. The place is probably my most popular hangout, but I never bothered to take my camera inside until now. This building was sort of a resort/retreat center, so it has a good bit in common with what you'd find in hotels. Still, it's got its own unique quirks, such as an infirmary, and an odd collection of pianos.

Here's a good shot of the exterior. I, for one, love the architecture of this place. It's certainly the most unique building in the area.

This is one of the pianos, laying in a ruined heap. There were at least 6 more, some in playable condition.

Anyway, I hope people enjoy this set, and if anybody is around the MS Gulf Coast and wants to explore, I'll be here for most of the summer.

This place does have a cool vive, I liked the set, particularly the inside shots. I don't know what it is but, all the rooms have a certain look to them that reminds me of a elaborate bomb shelter.

Have some of the floors been cleared/cleaned out? I cant really tell.

The real estate brochure is has lots of detailed photos of the place but also has all location info in it so I wont link it.

Seems like a good deal for the price as far as beachfront real estate goes. I guess the No Casino rule put on by the owners sorta slows it down a bit.

Yes, I know I'm digging up a pretty old thread. But for the sake of safety, I need to update everyone on this location:

A couple weeks ago, I returned to the Baptist Assembly with some friends. We encountered MANY spray-painted warnings not to trespass. Before, there had been one or two signs on the gate, but now the warnings were sprayed on the building itself. Several doors had been locked, and one sealed with a bolt between the door and frame. It has become obvious that somebody doesn't want any visitors to the property.

It gets worse: some sick bastard booby-trapped--that's right,booby-trapped--one of the stairwells. He laid out some planks with 2" nails sticking straight up, and concealed them with old A/C filters. One of our party stepped right onto these nails, which pierced his foot. Thankfully, it healed without getting infected.

I don't know of any fellow UER members locally, but if anyone is considering exploring this place, I urge you to be on your guard.

Of course someone would be on the coast before I leave the country. Good shots! I remember that place when it was not ravaged.

"Steve, I was going to bed, I'm going to be on, and I have to throw com dot. Manning and Sean, slash, Sandra come into my name is John thousand anytime doctor that it maybe she'll come. Maybe she want. I think this please. I will probably show up when you are going to be there and calling and they are people okay alright. Bye bye."
