An afternoon at Pt Mo-late

There is a lot to see out there. Security seems to be pretty lax and friendly, although I wasn't seen inside any fences. Inconspicuous parking is the main issue. It would be nice to park somewhere near other vehicles and then bike to the main complex.

Here are a few quick shots from an afternoon quick drivethrough.

That is Winehaven. A winery closed during prohibition. There is a fallout shelter built under it. The navy used it for storage during their occupation here.

The question is not when are we gonna stop, It's who's gonna stop us?

What an incredible area. I just searched the net and found some pics and info. Nice!

Just FYI, KPIX's 'Eye on the Bay' program --which all of you locals should routinely watch-- had a feature on Point Molate & Winehaven a year or two ago, & showed the inside of the 'castle' place plus talked about future plans. I don't remember the details.

Hopefully those old episodes are viewable on the web.

Suspiciously sitting in my car next to the pool of a Travelodge motel to use their Wi-Fi, and having the parents of the kids playing in the pool giving me dirty looks!

There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

I think that is where they want to build a casino.

Who wants to go? Drive in, park somewhere inconspicuous, bike or walk over to the main complex. Getting through the fence is easy. Can't tell if there is access to the wine building by looking through the fence, but I'd like to find out.

I meant the fallout shelter underneath. I saw it on EyeOnTheBay.
