mojave national preserve trip

I am planing a mojave trip for me and my friends. There are a lot of good mines in the area that we will be exploring. These are a few of the mines we will be visiting Death Valley Mine, Standard Mine #1, Standard Mine #2, Susana Mine, and Evening Star Mine all can be found in the uedb under california and then Mojave national preserve. We will be camping for three nights down there and any one that wants to come can. There is no camping permit needed but a 4x4 truck is a must due to the roads we might encounter. I my self have 2 cars coming from the S.F. Bay area and can give rides to anyone that wants to come.

Down there are abandoned mines that go for a bit in to the hill side and on the second day i plan on going to a big area that has a lot of open tunnels.

please respond if any one is open to go to this event and let me know when would be a good date or month to go and i will try to plan accordingly. If you have any more questions or ideas for the area please write me at max13.

Seriously, don't wast your time with standard mine number #1, other than driving by for a picture of the old section. What u will see up on the hill, that looks huge, is gated. Bonanza King, Goldome, the Riley area (technically the nearby camps are not part of his camp) and Death Valley are my favs so far. But I just bought my own personal climbing gear and hope to safely find cooler stuff. There are also a lot of areas that the park's geologist circled out that I have yet to visit. Bring the biggest pair of binoculars you can get. It'll save you miles of walking while exploring.

Do a mapquest or whatever of the areas just south of 17(19?)points, west of the lave cinders, and the areas north of morning star. They look mind blowing but I have yet to visit them.

Get the National Geographic map at Kelso Depot. B/W squares are shafts and Ys are adits.

Edit#3?: last but not least. You don't necessarily need 4x4. Both me and the lady have 2x4 suvs. High clearance is a must. You might get stuck a couple times but only if there is sand or super loose rock. But that's rare. But if there is snow bring everything you can muster. There should be several feet now above 5000 ft. That kills the West side of the Ivanpah mts. and shuts down a major road called black...whatever it is, the one that connects hole in the wall to cima.
