Sounds fun. I think I'll make it out. I'd love to do some photography down there.

I've never been in the drains but I have seen them, so it'll be a first for me. Am I the only one that hasn't been caught on Terminal Island? lol

If you keep to yourself and ninja your way in, nothing will happen. Once you get in and off the streets, you can use flashlights and take flash pictures and all that stuff. Its a-ok.

An armed society, is a polite society. So lets get to it!

Yeah, we only got caught because we were unlucky and were with a huge group.

As far as the drains in Irvine go. I've only been in the one off of Culver and view park.

I've committed myself to go to the SoCal Meet and Greet, but got some questions.

1) What's the deal with Terminal Island security related to those who have ixnayed their attendance because of it and those who will never go back? PMoradi, you say you've been there many times without incident and I'm pretty sure I've seen your pics from there before and we talked about it when I met you in San Jose, but - it's my experience that Meet Ups aren't your usual exploring scenario. When you have a crowd of more than two or three, and more so when you throw in a clueless newbie explorer, or two, or three, that risks go up. I wouldn't be at all concerned going in there if it wasn't a MeetUp, but like Factor said - the only time they were caught there was with a big group.

2) Re: "possible draining in Irvine" any heads up on what gear if any is needed for the drain in question? Might be none, but be only given to those attending, etc, but more info could be helpful.

Well a group of people had gone to LAXT and got caught. We are not going there, we are going to go to other places that are not patrolled by the police/security. The location is huge and we could have 3+ groups walking around in different parts. There are certain parts of Terminal Island that you should avoid, some people just learned the hard way, even though it wasn't intentional.

As for draining, I have never personally gone in but I am hoping to go sometime soon before the meet to check it out.

I may be able to make it. What's on Terminal Island worth doing?

I've been in Mojave for a bit over two years now, but haven't done much exploring. I used to live in the midwest, and did the most stuff in the Twin Cities, some Action Squad trips back in the day.

What's not. It's a semi abandoned portion of the third largest shipping yard in the country. It's just tighter in spots than Big Dave's sphincter when his wife calls.

Great! Now you've made it so when I think of Terminal Island, Dave's sphincter works it's way into that thought. And that's just wrong on many levels.

You can see a million miles tonite, but you can't get very far.
