| | | This place is amazing, I've been coming here for thirty years or more, it has changed very little. The smell of this place is intoxicating, motor oil, gear oil, petrol, rubber, leather, paint, WD-40, exhaust. If I could I would wear it as after shave or cologne. I always kept this to myself, like a little secret spot I'd go to and just recharge my mechanical battery. The old guy that ran it used to sponsor racers at Ascot park, the Catalina Gran Prix, the Big Bear Grand Prix, Hopetown Grand Prix, and I'm sure, many others.... He passed away, his daughter took over, now his grandson runs the place. Very long line of motorcycling history here. Now that I've joined UER, I thought I should share it with Y'all, Enjoy!! I see I missed a shot of that old Pan head Harley......... it was so clean and well done, I just figured it was a newer muffin head, sorry I missed those two Harleys, I'm sure the 2nd one was older too. Wow! my bad there's three Harleys there, not used to seeing those in this shop!! [last edit 10/14/2009 6:12 PM by cr400 - edited 2 times]

| | | Ascot park was the shit..... We used to sneak in when we were younger, raced there a few times as I got older, my girlfriend was a trophy girl at a stock car race there in '85 or so. They had speedway, 1/2 mile, TT races, sprints, stocks, figure 8, cops and robbers demo derbys. We had Lions drag strip in Carson/Willmington. We had a Motocross track on Terminal Island in the late 70's, Honda Haven, it was right near the south east corner of the Vincent Thomas bridge. And of course Brotherhood Raceway, closed because of noise complaints from the navy, then they moved out a few years later......

| | | Nothing quite like being pelted with dirt in the stands at Ascot. The navy complaining about noise? Oh tough bananas. I know BH Raceway has been on the verge of making a comeback in the past few years.

| | | Heres the link, looks like they've stepped into the electronic age, with a website and all. Looks like a great site, I can shoot photos of something if you want? It would have to wait till the weekend. Call the guy, he's very knowledgable.

| | | Dude, Century Cycles!!! That place is awesome!! I played there for Father's Day a few years back, they have a big cruise/bike show every year. Very cool if you're into bikes that aren't Harley Davidsons/Harley ripoffs.

| | | Dont mean to drudge an old thread, but I really like the old Yamaha Mini Enduro.. had one of those when I was younger.. started losing its power until it couldnt make it up a ditch.. sadly it was parted out and sold in pieces. Good to see one in such nice condition

| | | The white one? It's an AT1 125cc, they look very similar. The Mini Enduro was the JT1 70cc, just a bit smaller. I never had one, sure wanted one bad. I ended up with a Honda XR80 years later, great pit bike. One day I'll get a JT1!

| | | I didn't even see that one, it's sittin' next to an old yellow, now blue '74 Yamaha mx 250/360/500. I'd bet a dollar that orange bike is a dt250, and only because of it's size in relation to the yellow/blue bike next to it. Good eye for the old Yamaha's.....
