looking for a warehouse setting in los angeles
< on 8/17/2009 12:08 AM >
Posted on Forum: UER Forum

I'm very new to this. But I'm looking for a warehouse to take a picture for a play. It would need to be something easy enough to get in so we would not be bothered by anyone. Dirty, dingy, run-down is what i'm looking for.

A sub-type basement could also work.

Anyone have any good ideas?

Cheers,
jeff

did UER move up on the Google results list or something?

Been a lot of these types turning up here lately.

I don't give bums money, nobody here will give you a location.

Remember to play nice with the noobs, people!

Like the others said, though, people here tend not to give out locations to people they don't to some extent know. You might have more luck searching for folks in your area, and talking to them individually or meeting up for an explore.

thanks DevilC.

I'll check it out.

We're basically a non-profit that is interested in training great actors while also giving back to the community with great plays (for free).

And to the "bum" comment. I do understand your concern, but without new people this may as well be a closed forum.

Anyway, I'll post the pictures if we use one of these warehouses. I think that is a plus for this forum!!

cheers all,
jeff

Lets close the forums folks, you heard him.....if we don't give out free locations there's no point in the site remaining open!

No harm meant to anyone.

I'm a new member (as I clearly stated) and I was called a bum for asking a simple question. Please understand I didn't appreciate it.

I did read the rules and I thought it would be a win-win situation since I have a wonderful photographer that would take pictures of an abandoned warehouse. I could post these pictures and write up a little note about my experience. I'm very active and love exploring and I am looking forward to getting back into it.

But if this forum is about keeping secrets then its really not a good fit for me. I'm an artist who shares as much as I can and I can't subscribe to that philosophy, for any reason.

Anyway, this is the wrong forum for me and my apologies for causing any grief to any members. I will kindly remove myself as user.

cheers,
jeff

You won't flamed if you contribute something yourself. people are more then willing to share or trade, especially for new stuff they may not have seen. If you don't see the reason why, you need to lurk more.

As the first here, welcome to the Pacific Southwest Forum. Many of us are very protective of our locations, especially to new users. This is why we have a trust system in place here at UER.

If you are looking for some places to shoot a video or production, I'd suggest lurking around here and look at the Location Database we have in place.

If you want to meet people, I also suggest to request this and not just ask for location right out of the box.

For those that may or may not have called you names or whatnot, it isn't their intention to do so (and if it is, it needs to stop). Again, we are very protective of our locations, including myself. Heck, I've got a whole list of places that aren't on here, so don't feel so bad.

Overall, we hope you stay, learn more about this community and what we stand for, and maybe meet you at one of our events coming up. Until then, observe everything on here and post when needed.

Happy Exploring!
