| | | Well...according to CBS 2. Here's the article http://cbs2chicago...ion.2.1105411.html. They don't mention how many properties are empty but it sounds like security is tight, "MB employees can be seen patrolling the near vacant neighborhood". Could be an interesting area?

| | | Better hurry.
"Eve Rodriguez says once litigation is wrapped up, the city of Chicago will officially own all that land, not just the homes, and it will become a secured construction site."

| | | You can pretty much drive down all the streets you want and take pictures from your vehicle. The streets are open for emergency vehicles. The hydrants still have pressure, but the water, gas and electricity is turned off to the homes and business's. Security will intervene if you enter a property that is posted. I have seen scavengers working with permission on a few homes. Looking at all the overgrowth of vegetation and empty houses, it's pretty spooky, kind of like life without people. I wonder how many flooded basements there are, as well as the toxic chemicals leaching into the ground. If you get stopped, say you just turned in from Irving Park Road and got lost turning around.

| | | Security must be keeping a low profile; I've never seen them. Then again, I've never done anything to attract attention there.
