Nice shots!

Its good to see a bunch of other folks hitting mines these days. I was starting to feel like a one horse shay.

I have changed my personal exploring ethics code. From now on it will be: "Take only aimed shots, leave only hobo corpses." Copper scrappers, meth heads and homeless beware. The Jonsered cometh among you, bringing fear and dread.

This place is a wet dream. I do a ton of mines localy. Some are 40 mins hike from pasadena. Also going to do a short film at big horn next month. Currently training to repel so i can do verticals. We need to join forces.

Do you guys bring a sniffer into these places? Or at least a canary? I'd be more worried about asphyxiation in a mine than collapse...

You've got some killer shots from there. Cheers,

No, we didn't bring any 'sniffers' into the mine with us. Actually, this particular mine was very well ventilated, so well that at times it seemed liked more of a wind tunnell than a mine. The air exiting the audit was significantly cooler than the scorching heat of the desert, and provided a nice relaxing place to stay during the middle of the day.

So there isn't a stability issue with these places? I think that would freak me out. I mean, I suppose there's a gradient, some places more stable than others, but how do you tell? I wouldn't want to find out the hard way.

Ah yes the good ol' War Eagle Mine out near Dumont. Great place to go if you can put up with the long drive out there. Did you go down to room with the old boxes of TNT? I think it was the 4th level down. I need to go back that place was awesome. It seems as though people have been vandalizing it more and more lately.

That's one of the reasons we don't openly post the names of locations in public forums. You'll pick up that habit yourself in time. That said- Welcome to the forums!

This mine is super popular in the caving community. It is stable, large, and has no dangerous levels of gas anywhere. I was last out there about 3 years ago and saw about 6 people in the mine that same day. I would say this mine is what Linda Vista is to hospitals. Nevertheless I respect your communities unwritten rules and will refrain from openly posting names in the future.

Do what you want chief.

I'm just trying to help you out. -I thought you were new around here.

While this location may be well known you may find yourself talking about other sites, in the future that should be kept on the down-low to prevent the vandalizing or destruction of locations.

In just over a month there have been two threads about this location with 37 replies. There were even two other members inquiring where it may be. You are the only person directly identifying where it is.

I love hospitals! I haven't made it out there yet, sounds like you know that place pretty well. Would you say the Intel gathered in the DB entry is accurate?
