Exploring PR

I didn't know whether or not to put this in the "World" category or "SE" since its part of the US, but I'm in Puerto Rico for a couple of weeks and I'm looking for a few tips on the sites to check out. I know there are a LOT of places like old Sugar Mills from 50+ years back to factories recently abandoned, however, I'm not sure how these places are in terms of access, and danger, and I also don't know how the cops are here for sure plus I'm on my own. This isn't the first time here but it is the first time with an interest to explore things. Any tips/advice on getting started? (especially from anyone that's been here?)

okay, so in the end I found tons of things and got a lot of good tips from the locals. Here's a few starting with a spot with an incredible ocean view

Quick story behind it; its common to see places like this all over the island. Money is a real issue and when construction begins its also common for the budget to never be fully calculated and looked over. Thus, when the money runs out the building stops and places are simply left as is and deserted.

Pretty cool spot. Maybe if I finished building it, they'd let me have it?

Lol. more than likely. For what its worth though to clean up the land, complete the job and fix it all up, you could just get one of the many completed houses suddenly being put up for sale all along the coastline.

here's another home spot. The entire road by this is full of abandoned houses all in various stages of completion. In all there are 32 houses along an abandoned road- all of which is being overgrown by vegetation making it incredibly hard to get anywhere. Due to time constraints and lacking a machete I only got as far as the first couple of houses:
