In 1962 our silos north of chico, ca were on red alert. Three titan one ICBMs with a nuclear payloads set ready to go. When i was younger they were open for exploration now there fenced off and to dangerous. I have seen many like it that have bee explored recently, i have maps and blueprints. Any one down, or know of a good silo to explore. there are 2 more sites 9 silos in all, beal afb and by the sutter buttes.

The latter has my interest, and is really what got me started in exploration. The complex at Beale AFB (It isn't there, but okay) is actually under rather heavy scrutiny by the US Army Corps of Engineers and isn't too easy to get into.

We avoid risks in life so we can make it safely to death.

The one the Buttes is hard to get into, they are right next to a guys house. He is always watching out for people. I heard that if you go talk to him, he might let you go see them.
As for the Beale one, I have been told by more then a few people, that there is a few in the Spenceviile Wildlife area. I went out there a few years back with some people, who said they had seen them before (10-15 years ago) We were unable to find them.

The 3 sites are located in Chico, The Sutter Buttes, and Lincoln. The Chico site has a home built right on top of it. The Lincoln site is flooded. The Buttes site is the only one that is accessible. I've been in the Buttes site several times.

That guy will never let you in. You have to go at night and you have to approach from the orchard.

Also, the 3 I mentioned are the whole of the Beale Titan Missile Installations. Any other that might be part of Beale would not be large sites with silos. They would most likely be Nike sites that are nothing like the titan complexes

I used to always go to the Chico site in the early 90's. The owner at the time lived in Manteca and rarely maintained security, but parking was a problem because there were high-end residences on the road at the northern entrance and they would call the cops if you parked there, so it was best to get dropped off. Same deal with the east entrance.

Local story at the time was the owner bought it for scrap and maintained security on-site with a watchman and single-wide MH. One day, the MH was thrashed and his dog was killed, so they discontinued security.

Today it's cleaned up, leveled off, and has a house built on it.

Does everybody know about the Titan Missile Museum in Green Valley, AZ (south of Tucson)? It's a great site to visit.

Yes, but be aware it's a Titan II base. Titan I's were much more impressive. It's too bad none have survived preserved.
