	Okay, so maybe being a full member disqualifies me from using the Rookie Forum. But as long as there are people more experienced than me I will always see myself as a Rookie. And anyway, there is no other forum to ask this in. Maybe I'm a also a noob for using a P100 Respirator, but since the late great Ninjalicious recommended it and every day a learn more about cancer. I perfer to protect my lungs. Anyway, I noticed my 3M 6200 respirator lets in small amounts of air through the exhale valve when I cover the inhale points and breath in really hard. I spoke to a contractor friend of mine and he recommended washing it out with Alcohol, but that failed to work. Is it safe or is there a way to fix it? Does anyone ever read this?

I have the same respirator. Just checked it. Mine does the same thing. It's just the air pressure coming from your lungs is greater than the resistance of rubber nipple offers.

If you read the user manual that came with the respirator, it indicates that it is only effective when used properly. That would be an example of improper use.

Thanks, mind you not using filters does make the thing pretty useless anyway.
