Anyone familiar with the current status of this site? I'll make a perimeter visit next time I'm out that way, to determine accessibility -- but perhaps others have beat me to it.

The contamination issue is a question mark for me, specifically in how hazardous it currently is above-ground. I'm also uncertain as to the progress made in cleanup and how active this site is due to cleanup efforts.

As I understand it, much of the sensitive components of this facility have long-since been decommissioned and moved out, so it could make a possible uex at some point.

I think it'd be an awesome explore! If you're worried about breathing something you shouldn't, stop by your nearest army surplus store and pick up a gas mask or head to wal mart and get a mask, same shit for what your doing actually, wal mart would probably be better. I'd recommend eye protection too. Go and Explore! Report back with results!

The hazmats are definitely concerning, but I noticed that video was posted a couple years ago. In the time since, I'm curious how much cleanup has been done.

I'll make a visit and give an update; in cases like this I take appropriate measures, not that different from the equipment used by the cleanup crews.

Excellent video Dave. I can't believe you don't hear more about this place. People make such a big fuss about Three Mile Island. After reading the wiki page on this place it's clearly much much worse. I don't think I'd want to go sploring around that place. A little too "hot" for me. For me living in the Phoenix area you can't help but wonder how much contamination was scattered across Arizona from this facility. Not too mention California.
