Silo #5 is not active but protected by the police of the port of Montreal because it is a federal property related to transport and could be a very important target for illegal immigration, terrorism, point of entry for drugs and illegal substances and many other illegal criminal activities. Transport is of federal jurisdiction in Canada for a number of reasons, the most evident ones being because transport in Canada is transprovincial and is relating to the security of the territory & national border.

It's got nothing to do with silophone. Cops are not there to guard the silophone.

And they are also not there to guard the city vehicles (if they still park them inside) ... however they happen to be guarding the silophone and the vehicles also by circulating. Anyways the silophone is not that valuable.
