Still having a couple of years of study to do, i dont think this will be any problem for me any soon. I cant wait to get to university and explore the tunnels out there, and im sure i wont get alienated by other students for it. But when i get to a serious job, i dunno how it will turn out.

People who cant accept these things are either too stupid or too close-minded (assholes who think they are the only thing in the world that's doing the correct stuff and other shitty peeps)

I talked about it once at work, when a co-worker asked me what my plans were for the weekend. He took an interest in where I was planning to go and what I was planning to do. He also started talking about his interest in photography. I thought about asking him on the exploration with me but didn't, as I could tell that the talk of visiting an abandoned hospital creeped him out a little. He couldn't fully understand the interest in visiting such a place, or why anyone would have the interest and why so many do.

I just keep it to myself now, as hard as that sometimes can be because I love exploring so much. I guess it's just not a "socially acceptable" hobby, or something like that.

I get people asking me to take them places, who usually wimp out later. My boss was cool with it. But I work at McDonald's ... so I'm not sure how "professional" that would be.

I'm planning on exploring the rooftop of the 10 story government office I work at. It's unlocked, but I just need to get past the camera's without being seen.

Lol, I think that's a different type of UE and professional life than the OP intended.

I explored a military gun implacement in San Pedro, CA. Everything was locked and I really wanted to explore the underground tunnels. I thought it was a mortar battery. A few years later as I returned, it was open for business as a museum. I then got to explore some of the tunnels and enjoyed the exhibits.
I think the hobby is not for everyone but since I like exploring and photography, UE is a natural. Not everyone understands, but many understand UE when it is a museum. Like the underground in downtown Seattle.

I let some of the people i work with know, but only the ones that i already know will appreciate it. The others, eh, well they don't really need to know.

Very soon, in my biweekly managers' meeting, I will have to do a presentation about myself: likes, dislikes, hobbies, etc. I'm not planning on saying UE, but I am going to say that I like taking pictures of abandoned buildings. I'll just let it go from there.

Since starting a new job, I'm under the impression that the new bosses might not be as comfortable with my extracurricular activities as my last place of employment.

New bosses seem to be just fine with my trespassing, thankfully. Of course, my soon to be had professional certification has a large section in the code of conduct specifically dealing with trespassing. That could be more problematic.

I try to keep my hobby kind of low-key around work. Because I work at a bank, I'm afraid that any and all criminal activities might be frowned upon. In fact, I wouldn't put it past them to terminate employment if they DID find out. Maybe I'm overreacting, but, better safe than sorry.

That's not to say that I NEVER mention UE at work. There are certain co-workers I talk to about it, some of which have dabbled in it before. It's just not something I broadcast.
