| | What do you carry equipment with? < on 12/16/2007 11:05 PM >
| | | Exploration equipment can be a hassle to carry around, with first aid kits and bottles of water, flashlights and spare batteries for your camera, plus other things a location may require. So what do you use to carry all your stuff around while exploring?

| | | Ok, Ok, I always have wiseass answers, so I will get serious for a sec, there was one time when the two of them had diarreah and couldnt haul my stuff, so I was forced to pay some gorilla named Hansel to sling my pack for me. cost me $95 for the day, which isnt bad considering it was last minute, he was a 6'5 German with a blonde mullet and weighed 280 lbs. Before I had my entourage...like when I was small time...I used to put all my stuff in a camera bag and carry it around...can you believe that? Ugh...I am so above that now

| | | This raises many questions. Mainly, how does a german obtain a blonde mullet? Everything I knew is a lie! But yeah, my camera doesn't have a bag, it has a small belt pouch. [last edit 12/17/2007 12:15 AM by Trilby - edited 1 times]

| | | I just wear my JNCO's, and those give me all the storage space I need But when I go for a serious trip, I usually just have a small backpack, and keep anything emergency-related in my car

| | | I have a fairly sturdy camera bag with room for extra stuff, but recently one of the straps was torn partway in a barfight so I need to hold onto it or it'll flip upside down.

| | | I use used military bags/packs which can be purchased at any army & navy store. They are cheap, durable, and can hold most of my stuff that I need when exploring. Also use Pelican cases to hold things that need to be protected from water, such as electronics (cameras, cellphone, flashlights, batteries, etc). One of my pelican cases (model 1520) can hold three SLR cameras easily, while another (model 1400) holds my higher end flashlights. These cases are durable and protect its contents with customizable foam.
I'm going hunting for mysteries. Where's my flashlight? Don't Like Clowns who Vandalize, B&E, and Steal from Sites. |

I didn't know that Pablo and Juan were proper Sherpa names. If they were real Sherpas they would have names like Lobsang of Tensing. I suspect you have employed a couple of imposters.

| | | I should be getting a new gas mask in the mail soon and it comes with a shoulder bag. I'll probably use that for what little I need to carry.

| | | I usually just have spare batteries, phone, wallet, cam, maybe a flashlight, and some water. Occasionally I'll pack a pocket knife. I use an old school backpack if I need to haul the flashlight and water. I travel by bike, so I have to hide that when I get there. Anything else that I should seriously consider?

| | | I use a few different things depending on what I am carrying and how careful and light and nimble I have to be. Baserunner I
Sits on my lower back, just above my arse and doesn't get in the way. Tripod stows under the bag, straps pull it in tight. Small Berghaus backpack
Small, tough and has little features in order to be able to stow a helmet and other things like that. Reasonable padding aswell for cameras, etc. No place to attach the tripod however. Lowepro Slingshot 100
Mainly for the D-SLR, i'll probably start using this a little more on normal explores. Easy to carry a tripod and all other kit I might need for the photography side of things.
I try to reduce my kit as much as possible.
P.S. I wish that fucking santa and snowman would fuck off.
