Following situation. In the next summer I plan to visit the USA under the program "Work&Travel". This program for foreign students. According to this program is possible a work and a rest. But for this purpose I need receive of visa J1. And what to receive visa J1 i will be to find work on the period from July, 01st till November, 01st. And then with acknowledgement about work I address in embassy of the USA for the receive of visa. It is possible to visit certainly on by the tourist visa B-2, but I wish to cover the expenses of the trip. It is possible to tell, I wish to combine business with pleasure. Has seen a heap of job sites, has sent hundreds resume. Only one offer was received from very small town, from Montana on vacancy of the cook. Basically all me there suits except that a city very small and there is nothing to exploring. But I stalker and I wish to visit various urbanistic objects, underground, old bases, etc. and at last to see America. Therefore I wish to find work in the big city or near.
Remote search of job is very difficultly, especially on next summer. Many employers do not read letters. Therefore I ask you to help me with this business - to find work. Many of you or acquaintances is do work. Please ask employers on subject of vacancies for the next summer.
I am a senior at Novosibirsk State Technical University specializing in Electrical Engineering. I can work in a IT support service or in retail (I have a wide experience in IT support and in retail sales area). Also I can be cook or carry out any another not qualified work: the barman, the waiter, the lifeguard, the driver, the waiter or others. It is desirable its earn will be from 10$ per/h. Find work it is necessary till February.
Please help me.

In my opinion, the "Work & Travel" program to which you are supposed to be a part of should be handling all these things for you. I've had friends who participated in similar programs via their schools/universities, and the staff who operate and manage the programs do all (or the major portion/s) of the leg work. After all, they want the program to be a success, not only for them but for the student.
You mention that you "has sent hundreds resume." If indeed that is accurate, why have you not received appropriate/professional replies back, and the only reply is supposed to be from a food establishment from Montana. I disagree with you that "many employees do not read letters." There is a reason they are not getting back with you. What US schools/universities is the Novosibirsk State Technical University partnered with? Most of the similar programs work with affiliated educational establishments from the host countries. Also, does $10.00/hr cover the cost of expenses associated with such a trip? What about room and board, food, airfare and travel, clothing, and miscellaneous expenses. You are also willing to locate anywhere in the United States, which seems a little bizarre. Usually certain geographic areas of the country are more suited to particular types of work and educational opportunities.

WAT purpose is give possibility students to see USA and to work on seasonal job and to improve English language, to get new friends. Yes of course the organizer can give jobs, but job only in service sphere and for money: the cook, the barman, the lifeguard on a beach or aqua park, the waiter, the porter, the housekeeper, the cleaner, etc. the Salary thus in an interval from 2.35$ (+ tip) to 15$ per/h.
And students often worked on two jobs not only to cover the expenses of program, but also to buy the various goods. Vise is valid from the middle of May till October, 1st. But arrange about good work it is problematic enough, because many companies do not know when workers are wanted, especially in half an year!
If I found temporary job in the IT support service, but to employer necessary worker is a immediately, but not next summer. Anybody employer will not hold a vacant place till the summer. And in service sphere all on the contrary: in summer are come tourists and for many companies necessary additional workers. This phenomenon is predicted, therefore employer employ a worker in winter.
Therefore I want through you if it is possible, to find work for the summer. Maybe some of acquaintances will go to holiday and a place temporarily will be exempted or other variants.

I still think the Work and Travel staff should be doing the majority of the work in seeking temporary employment for you here in the U.S. instead of asking for help from people you don't know half a world away (and they don't know you, or can vouch for you in any type of manner). I personally would not give a recommendation for someone from another country whom I don't know, or a friend or relative can vouch for. What would happen if something goes wrong (example- theft, misconduct, etc)between you and the employer, or their customers/clients, especially since I recommended you to them? You'll be gone in a few short months, to God knows where, with no way of tracking you down or following up with you. Sounds like a big risk for anyone to undertake based on faith alone. I've, and some of my friends and business acquaintances have been burned before on endeavors a lot less risky than this.
I like the concept of the Work and Travel" idea, but in reality I have to say that I don't want to take the risk myself knowing the unknown variables. You could be the nicest guy in Serbia, Russia, or wherever you're from, but I still don't know you.

I do not demand from anybody to find work for me. Simply, I wanted, if somebody has any thoughts concerning work search would share with me. Certainly the personnel "Work and Travel" searches for work, but for money - 100-150$, also she not always satisfy desires for the participant of the program.
Ok. Then can asks in various cafe, shops, hotels and other places, i.e. in service sphere, whether employees for temporary job are necessary to them on summer. If are required, inform me their mail, phone and the contact person. I with them will connect by phone or through e-mail. I think it not so difficultly and nobody responsibility will not carry.
Serbia is not Siberia!! This is a two different places. I'm from Siberia.

Once on Craigslist you can view jobs being offered by city, and you can then contact the employer from there.
