| | | panic - thanks mate. i'm not sure who the girl is yet but i know her name is magnolia girl. all this shit is my own work. i also have other projects on the go, one in particular i posted below. i think a release date for The Kid depends on if i get any solid contributors. but to get a copy you would have to go to your local comic shop or maybe a deal could be made where you could go through flurbex. suicidepactphoto - ha now you see my need for a writer. The Kid is based off of a design nomeus (founder of flurbex) came up with. I really liked the design and started this whole project from there. it's a bit of cheap promo shit i admit but it's also paying respect to flurbex. and here's some of my other stuff for you guys to get a taste of my art. weirdsdale - this comic is fully fleshed out and by christmas i'm submitting it to "image" and other publishers.
some random art...

| | | well as i posted above i'm working on "weirdsdale" graphic novel plus this ue project so i alone can't bear the workload of drawing both books, though if it comes to that i will (comic guys are fucking hardworkers). i would need a writer that will stick with the project and it would help a bunch to have another artist to color or ink the sequential artwork that i'd be doing. if we get enough artists it could turn into an anthology book showcasing multiple talents.

| | | So, to summarize, you can't write, and you can't spare the time to draw it either. Hmmmm. I'd recommend you spend your limited time on preparing more credible cover art for your Weirdsdale project. Your interiors are quite compelling, but the hack, 'clip art' style of the cover could completely compromise any hope you have of getting picked up. --- As an aside though, you never replied to my well-reasoned suggestions and pleas on the previous page. They were submitted in good faith, and I would like to hear your response.

| | | Posted by Degas 2xplorations - hahaha i never thought of that. i guess i drew him with his mask cause that's his identity. i'd like for people to recognize the character for wearing a mask.
|
reminds me a little of Rorschach from "Watchmen". that character (who's a superhero and a bit of a nut-job) considers his mask his true face....if you haven't read Watchmen, you should.

what i'm doing is trying to give people an opportunity to create something amazing. i love to collaborate with people. i am going to draw it i never said i wouldn't. i'd be doing the sequential artwork. it would be nice to collaborate with some of you artists though who could maybe ink my pencils or color it, which would free up time to switch over to weirdsdale mode. and yes i am not a writer. that's why i'm here to find a writer. and giving up on the kid that just went is out of the question. the cover isn't finished. i still have to tweak the figure and the doorway. that sucks you don't like the weirdsdale cover. i'm confused on what you mean by clip art style though.

very few comic books are written, drawn, and inked by the same person. sometimes there's a group of 4 or 5 people involved in a comic's production. sometimes more, and every now and then there's the solo person, usually an insomniac, who does absolutely everything.

I know this, I'm just questioning the emphasis on a heavy dose of community effort from someone who has a) just joined and b) appears unduly wedded to a quixotic idea that he wants everyone else to buy into. For me this falls into the same category as the UE Calendar (just with a 1000x more manual labour): Materials produced for our own unthinking self-satisfaction. Now, I gave a very coherent counter-suggestion on how Degas could better employ his talent while still telling stories and depicting places of relevance to this community, but his silence on that front implies that more than anything else he's attached to the name and look of his character. This is a bad sign.
