| | | I remeber a few years ago debating a idea to get up and down a few story building. There are these chain ladders dessigned to hang off window ledges. you throw it out your window and climb down. Its a pretty nifty thing that many fire departments ask people to own if they live in on the second story. They are relatively light and work pretty well. I was thinking it maybe useful for some more difficult ops to bring it along for quick escape. Also you could theoretically put it up to a window with a poll. Comments suggestions welcome.

| | | interesting idea with the pole thing. sort of like Jester's grapneling hook, but louder heavier and easier to climb. worth a shot of the conditions are favorable to the approach I guess.

| | | Actually, something I've been thinking about picking up for a bit was this:
It's basically a portable ladder, I figure combined with a grappling hook or just tying it off somehwere it could be usefull to get up/down certain things. I was planning on getting it for a specific place where I'm pretty sure I can get down, but not too sure about getting back up. It can be bought here and there is a slightly longer version that you can buy thats a few dollars more. http://www.attackopgear.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=AO&Product_Code=Yates+Big+Wa ll+Ladder&Category_Code=aid+climbing

| | | You know that could come in very handy with that cruise ship. Not to mention anything else that needs a 2nd or even 3rd story entry to gain access. I wonder if they come in different lengths. Didn't click on the link because it's a pain in the ass on the computer I'm using.

| | | I was thinking about getting something like this. I saw one in a room at one of my friends house, and I looked online and realized I could get something like it for only $15 or so, and I would feel much safer climbing that then a rope ladder I made myself.

| | | I was thinking about the ladder for your cruise ship. If tied properly you could use it for a bridge.
