Well apparently this just isn't the right time in world history for someone who's only 24 to be an avid UrbExer. I JUST found out about Oak Knoll last week when I read about it in the SF CHronicle, and then after like an hour of Google searching, came across this forum (which I had forgot existed years ago), and that most of you here have already BEEN to Oak Knoll and say that it's hotter than Satan's ass on Halloween and far too sketchy to venture in -- please say it ain't so!! I'm DYING to check this out, I MUST see it, I gotta know if it's going to be worth it.

Has anyone been in since last summer? the place is OFFICIALLY going to get torn down beginning in about 3 months, so I reckon it's full of engineers and grunts and goons, as people were saying it was a year ago (so saddending). What's the story here? I'm not looking for how-to info but simple information regarding the presence of cops/security/alarms/overall sketchiness. please say something encouraging....

thank you!

yeah... ummm.. to be completely honest, I haven't heard anything encouraging about Oak Knoll in over a year.

Since then, I've heard of at least two instances in which people turned back because of the fuzz or locked up entrances.

New info from the SunCal website:

"By summer 2007, we hope to start cleanup, abatement and demolition of old structures. The first step in this process will be environmental remediation followed by removal of the structures, with the exception of Club Knoll, in early 2008"
