top floor Disney World area hotel

This top floor of this resort hotel on Disney property used to be a restaurant and lounge and is now off limits to everyone though it appears the outer bar area is still used for private parties. Some fixtures are still there though the restaurant area smells musty. Access by elevator during daytime before 5 pm... afterwards, the elevator button to this top floor is inoperative.

The grand piano for the restaurant is still there. Strong musty mildewy odor here

This area appears to be still used for private functions. It's the first area you encounter from the elevator. Bar has been stripped of everything behind it. This is the only area that didn't smell musty.

That sounds interesting.... if you have pics, you should post a topic. I'd like to see them. Am in South Florida, so I don't get up to Central Florida too often.

seanmpi, can you also pm me with the hotel name? I live rather close to the disney area, and I've actually done a few grip/PA jobs in the Disney resorts, so finding out about this place is very unique!

thanks for posting this!

Just came back from visiting this place today. Unfortunately there was a convention going on in the hotel and the group that was there had their luncheon at the top floor. Since i had gone though after work, i was still in business attire so i blended in and chatted away with everyone on the elevator till we made it to the top. It had a nice view, but i was still a bit bummed out that everyone was there. oh well, the cocktails were nice!

They were just using the area off the elevator, right? It seems to be the only used area. The a/c is off in the old Arthur's Restaurant area and that restaurant took up most of the top floor and is unused and vacant now. I wanted to go into the kitchen area of the restaurant as I am sure it is now empty. Brookhaven, perhaps you can get pics of that area next time you visit?

I actually did take a couple of pics of the place, since it was still early and the kitchen staff was still preparing the buffet i was able to take most pics without people in the shots. I'm at the office now, but I'll post some pics later on today.

seanpmi, they seemed to be using the whole floor. I walked around and tried to go in a room called "The Aviary" but it was locked. then i entered the kitchen before an employee saw me and i had to ask where the bathroom was....

Upload them to your flickr account, then hotlink them.

1. copy and paste the image url into here.
2. Select the image url and click on the thing that looks like a picture above.

This displays the image. I don't think you can write html on here.

Brookhaven, there are a few private rooms (such as the Aviary) which are still in use. Those rooms are off the the right when you exit the elevator. The restaurant area on the left has been closed and if used at all, it would be for functions such as you attended. When I was last at the hotel at New Year's, I inquired the hotel staff about the top floor and they said everything is closed and they're not sure what they are going to do with it. I would assume that eventually they will renovate the top floor but for now most everything appears to have been stripped from the restaurant area, and as I didn't have time to go into the kitchen area, I was wondering if that was stripped as well.
