| | | "Off the Wall" on The Trail (not the real name, but locals know what I'm talking about. I think that place was last active in the '80's. Used to advertise a lot on the radio. Never went, but it seemed like a decent club. The plane is a retired Cherokee from Embry-Riddle in Daytona. The property is on a lake and probably worth a mint...hence the maintenance. I believe the property is for sale and has been for a long time...nice piece but in a totally crappy part of town now zoned for strip clubs, XXX shops, car lots, check-cashing businesses, and all that stuff. A little bit of digging finds that the property is listed as vacant and is owned by a local LLC. Looks like a husband and wife bought the property in 1971 on a lease-option from Bonanza Club South, INC. Apparently, they were operting "The Inferno Club" at the time. If you remember that club, you're old. I didn't find any other licenses for other clubs...but I know there were probably several from then until "Off the Wall". The estimated value (for tax purposes, which tends to underestimate true market value) is $850,000. Taxes on that property are $17K per year. The main building must have been built in two phases...the first in 1946 and the second in 1947. There are two sales on record: 1971 and 1995...the last being a Quit Claim from private ownership to the LLC (owned by the same people) in 1995 for $10. The building toward the rear of the main building must be the warehouse referenced in the county records. The owners may actually be using both buildings for storage or something. There are a lot of homeless and vagrants in that neighborhood, which means the place is probably patrolled on a regular basis...it also may mean someone has already broken in to squat, but if the property is being maintained, maybe not. It would definitely be neat to get some pics from the inside. The owners are still local, so they might entertain a request for a showing.

Some I know from being a local and some comes from the internet....the internet is great.
Want the history of a building in the area? Get me a physical address and I'll be happy to snoop. Records before 1970 will have to be visited in person at the courthouse.

| | | Its still crawling with bums fyi . And not the normal kind that smell like vinegar and a corn/potato based alch either , angry meth heads. Not to mention if you pull in there at night and someone see's you ( its not very far from the road ) they will come follow . Ive never seen the inside but i would imagine in that area if anything "neat" was inside its gone now.
