| | | Howdy All, I was just watching an old video that has a collection of UE related TV interviews and there was one that was done by the Australian show A Current Affair on channel 9 around about 1990. It is an interview with these 3 guys that go mountain bike riding through the disused Cornish Tin Mines. They call themselves The Underground Shafters. The 'leader' is named Andrew Kingsly-Tubbs (not 100% on the Tubbs part, might be Tibbs or something like that) and he seemed to work in a bicycle shop. His two exploring buddies were David and Richard. These mines predate Christ and we're gradually flooding due to the water pumps been turned off. So does anyone know of these Underground Shafters? Probably not. Cheers, Doug

| | | there is a man with the same name in the right place over here. looks like he makes land yachts. i'll PM you the details and you could mail and say hey! are you the underground shafter? 8) i was talking about something completely different on another forum and someone posted this: "It reminds me when me and a friend explored some of the caves of the North Downs. They are all gated and locked, so you have to get a key. The reason they are gated and locked is because people used to ride their cross-country motorbikes through the caves at top speed and, unsurprisingly, there were quite a few accidents." yes. sam
