I know men who are real sissies and for which I'd have to cover and protect. Having a dick and a pair of balls between your legs doesn't necessarily make you stronger, more courageous nor it gives you better reflexes.
I dunno but it would be pretty damn stupid for someone from this forum to make contact and send PMs and other infos to another member just to get her/him in a dark corner of a dangerous building to rape her/him. It would take about 2 mins max to track down that guy, with his IP and all PMs that could serve as evidence in court.
A lot easier for Joe average to go rape some random girl on the street than go through UER. I'm also taking precautions though but still. I'm usually more careful about walking alone at 2am in the morning than exploring with somebody else.
This being said, they are jerks and jerkettes everywhere, of course.

And aside from anything gory I wouldn't go with someone I didn't know for the simple reason that you don't know how they will react if you get hurt or stuck somewhere. I know most people would help but some people can't be bothered or wouldn't want to get in shit from the police or they might just panic. I don't know, my UE friends are also two of my closest friends in real life, one of them I've know for almost 4 years and the other I've known for 13. but then again I don't like to even risk being caught out alone late at night. but thats just me.
