	Hello, I'll be leaving on a trip soon to Latvia. I won't have a lot of free time, but I was wondering if there are some good locations around Riga, Cesis or Kandava? thanks!

Yes, definitely!
There is an abandoned hospital on Dzierciema iela, it's out of the centre but take any transit headed for Ilguciems (trams 9 and 21, certain buses and microbuses). It's right at the Dzierciema iela stop, behind it, former 6th Hospital. Be careful, though, there is activity around it. The doors are walled in except for one, which is locked. However, some second and third floor windows are totally open. It is structurally fairly safe inside. If you go around the side with the round part with the balcony on top, walk along the perimeter, there will be windows to the basement with bars. Eventually, you will see one with bars over it as well, leading to a hole type of thing and a door. Last time I was there (several days ago only), that door was OPENED. There may no longer be a way from the basement into the main building but if there is, it will be well worth it. Move quickly, there are plans to turn the building into communal housing very very soon.
