| | How much do storm drain systems cost? < on 11/3/2003 1:25 AM >
| | | Lucky for me Tyler puts their city council meetings online, so I can do a quick keyword search for "drain". I am looking at two awarded contracts right now -- One for $99k and one for $713k. Does anybody know what to expect?

| | | the thing we overlook is that estimate includes possibly miles worth of 6, 8, 10" pipes as well as the little measley ones you could slither through but wouldn't. Many drain systems don't have human-passable tunnels. edit: to attempt to answer the question, you can't be sure. they also have to pay to do all the digging and trenching and road repaving. It'd be hard to tell based on the quote, but a look at the land the system will drain might give you more information. Look at how much runoff the area might see and what size pipes it would take to channel it away. [last edit 11/3/2003 1:29 AM by MacGyver - edited 1 times]

| | | How much upkeep a drain will require, and also what kind of land the drain will be out into - easy to work with, or hard rock, etc. could have a big effect on it's cost.
