| | | Hay guys whatsup. ive had this site bookmarked for a long time and i finally decided to join. Today i was driving around downtown wasting gas in my just-waxed ride when i spotted a house like 6' above the ground. it looked like it was getting transported or something, like an antique house idk. So i pulled over and took some pics of it. But then as i was about to leave i saw the house across the street in a fenced in lot so it caught my interest and took some pics.
this is from down the street, sorry about the glare from the windshield.
Anyways, i wanted to go inside since the fence for the place is knocked down, but i really wasnt dressed for the occasion, and my car was open and parked on the side of the road with the hazards on... i'd like to go back and check it out though! | | | interesting. i've watched houses being moved myself. always interesting. it may be something you don't know, but it's generally a bad idea to post the location of an abandonment online. tends to bring taggers and such around. just a friendly warning. some of our members will flame you over it, and for good reason. the house being moved looks exactly like the 50 or so houses that i drive past in saltville, va, when i'm visiting family. strange seeing a seemingly identical house 800+ miles away, hehe.

| | | brick houses are the most fun to watch being moved. you'd never think that you could move a house that's seemingly attached to the ground in the way a brick/block house is. an investor just recently moved a house here in town. i should snap a picture or two of the place.

| | | In Davie (About a 10 minute drive) from Ft. Lauderdale there's this HUGE abandoned mansion that has no walls down 61st st. I'm pretty sure it's 4 stories with a basement and another building in the back (I didn't get to explore the building). It's a lot of fun, check it out!

| | | I don't think it's a mansion. You need to check out the back buildings, the place is fucking huge, and is still being used a little bit. [last edit 11/8/2006 10:22 PM by wherearethewaffles - edited 1 times]

| | | That place is nuts...I don't really think its a house because the layout of the place doesnt really have any bedrooms although it looks like a mansion. waffles is right; the lot is enormous and the back buildings are the most interesting parts.
