Hey!

Mag is still in production yeah, between the two of us that are trying to put it together we've had a hectic past few months. You know those purportedly three most stressful things you'll encounter in the course of your lifetime, well we've had two of the three between us so it's put us back a bit. We're pretty close to wrapping up the second issue though, will post here and around about elsewhere when it's done and on sale!

Back issues? Erm? When we started out we just ran a fixed amount for the first issue as we didn't know what to expect sales wise. We're a pretty tiny operation with limited resources so hadn't yet thought about printing back issues. I was thinking about something in an electronic format but it'd be shooting ourselves in the foot as people would possibly wait off until the issue is available electronically or it'd be distributed without charge, not that there's ANY profit in the print mag, but we'd like to make our costs back if possible. Any way, needs some thought in the future once we have a couple more issues behind us perhaps!

Cheers,

JD

Cool.

I was interested in getting a copy as I distribute UE zines in Australia.

I usually get one copy and run off 25 copies for starters.

I pretty much sell them for cost and do as a way of spreading the word (as you, and everyone involved in making zines says, there’s no money to be made from it).

I have a thread here that explains what I’m doing at the moment.

Let me know if you are keen to get them distributed down here - people love this kind of shit

I would also gladly send you a batch of my UE zines (I've made more than 80 issues and have other Aussie zines as well).

Good on you for making the effort, and I agree, don't put it online... then it's just the same as a website. The best thing about a printed copy is that you can read it on toilet

Cheers,

Doug

hey doug! yeh i've read your distribution posts and it's great to see them all collected together like that, and thanks also for the potential distribution offer!

with Section61, each one is printed and partly colour, so we'd have to figure out how it would work to have one copy multiplied. overprinting in anticipation of back issue orders versus having it copied is something we need to think about in any case. it depends where we see the mag going i reckon and how much we're prepared to spend on it. we'll certainly let you know anyway!

The best thing about a printed copy is that you can read it on toilet

that's an idea, we could make backside issues printed really cheaply on toilet paper.

I think the News Of The World have already patented that technology.

Chris...

We all had ostriches. My dad had an ostrich farm! I remember one day someone came in and said the high altitude bombing of Kosovo had been a limited success, so we all went out and celebrated… by killing an ostrich and boiling it in kiwi fruit.
