| | | So I recently went out for the first time and wanted to put up some of the decent shots I got. Haven't been taking pictures for too long and know barely the basics of Lightroom but I am very open to learning and criticism. Cheers! -edit
Also seems I need help on making the images fit better on posts. 1.

| | | good job. for being new to taking pictures and using post, you are doing pretty great. i would try to find subjects that are more interesting, but your processing, lighting, composition and technical use of your camera seem strong.

| | | 3. - the problem is it doesn't have a spot that grabs your eye - it's just sort of generally out of focus - Too soft for my likening. And i don't know the first thing about Light room - I'm more into in camera experimentation (I'm only a hobbyist)

| | | We can all agree that you show a lot of promise and with a bit of practice I think you'll be pretty fantastic at this. I really like the subject matter of 1, but the depth of field isn't working right, as the guy on the right is out of focus a touch. What you would need to do is keep them on the same plane so they're all equally in focus, or skew it more so the focus depth is more deliberate. How did you light this, with a flashlight? If it were more to the side you'd get a stronger shot. In 2, I think it would've looked better focused on the phone. I agree with Ricky on 3. The lens is focused on the key things on the left, but the image doesn't take our eyes there. It would've been good to focus deeper into the shot so the elements of the keyboard all work better. In 4, just a tug at the upper corners with Transform Skew and that image would be parallel lines and look fine. 5 and 7 are the weakest, and I like what you're going for in 6. Did you use a tripod? I think it would be possible to get that image a lot sharper if your camera were on a tripod.

| | | wow thanks for the compliments. i rarely share photos anywhere so this is awesome. for #1 i did have a headlamp on while taking that photo. after loading the image on my computer i did notice it was unfortunately out of focus. hard to spot a light with one hand and focus on the other haha. #6 i didn't use a tripod. i've never really used a tripod although i do have one for when i go backpacking. now i realize it really helps when exploring cuz of the low light conditions. #5 is definitely the weakest imo. was on the fence of putting it up and decided "why not?"

| | | To get a little more depth of field, close down your aperture a bit. I usually like to shoot aperture priority so I can have better control of the depth of focus. Just a thought. Abby Normal
