|  | | | Some of you have noticed that an account in the SW area named Xperiment has been posting up some really nice pictures, from all over the place.
We now know that those pictures were stolen from the website of a professional film location scout / location manager / producer.
Every thread that he has posted stolen photos have been outted as such.
Cdracing found out what was going on, and brought me this info last night and we discussed it, then the mods were notified.
He and I discussed that we also think "Xperiment" is a duplicate account of "Le Tournament Vert", the guy who has become widely known for his over-use of bolt cutters.
So I was thinking... if LTV, posing as Xperiment, was willing to steal photos from somewhere else online and claim they were his own and fabricate stories to go along with it.... then, Le Tournament Vert had likely done the same thing on his primary account.
So I went hunting.

BAM! Look what I found?
He was using both accounts to pump information out of people about locations, by using other's pictures to build trust that he has been to amazing places and takes amazing pictures.

Adding him to the banlist shows a public record of what's been going on here, the duplicate accounts, and the stealing of other's pictures and the fake stories, pumping everyone for information, blatant B&E, etc.

| | | | If it makes you feel any better, I was all happy that Xperiment and LTV were interested in mines. I linked them/him to sites about mines and was telling him all the gear he needed to explore them safely.
It kinda wierded me out though when I gave him lots of kinda vague information, like areas that had lots of mines and said to just do a teeny bit of research and he'd be able to find stuff, and then he came back and wanted specifics, names, sites, coordinates, etc.
LAAAAAZY
And it was weird that he was asking about all these other sites that I didn't know much about.
The really weird thing was, when I first saw Xperiment posting in the beginning, I was like, wow... this guy has been ALL over the place and has some really nice pictures, from places that some of our best guys can't really get into; but he's asking for info on all these other spots, some that are kinda "meh".

Ya know, the sad part of this is he PROBABLY came on UER saw how sarcastic, untrusting, and sometimes mean, members can be to new people and just did the wrong thing. Most of us have developed a thick skin on here.

U think he is a scrapper? I'm not defending him I just think that if you look at all the members from the rookie forum and from a year back or so, I bet there's a bunch that never came back cuz they couldn't handle some aspect of it.
Me and another member took a new guy out once about a week after he joined. He kinda held his own at first but people went off on him (from other areas) and he got bummed out and didn't come back.
Not that I'd ever condone stealing pics and I don't know what his reasoning was. He posted A LOT of false threads in a short amount of time.
For the record.... the only person I steal pics from is Siper

I have a very thin skin and it held up quite well during a huge UER Ort Ford outing last year. I find just about anyone will help a greenie if the greenie is willing to go out and show their willingness to learn.
That being said, I contacted xperiment about that cruise ship terminal and he gave me all sorts of info on it. Thought he was a nice person. Just goes to show that you should always take everything here with a grain of salt.

Did who "come back"? Le tour was here when we came back I think. And xperiment I just noticed with all the dam pics. But he did post the ship depot, wonder if he did for real. Can't google goggle on my phone.
@droopyeye....some people are just normal and do the right thing (like u by getting out and going to the meet up)
Others want respect and "fame" (like the girl who got caught posting graves from Sweden in a different thread/area). She fessed up though and didn't get banned. AND she chimed in on xperiment's ship depot post! What a coincidence!

I'm surprised nobody commented earlier about the known vandalism (bolt cutters). Has this somehow become acceptable here?
I think at some point one has to draw the line between, "small, inconsequential shit that neither really impacts the site nor the UE community; not worth a fuss," versus, "that shit is not okay."

I was actually being an advocate for the new socal kids (not lumping you other innocents into this mess, but it just how this real-life conversation went) to a fellow explorer who was a bit more reticent... but had I known vandalism was involved, that would've been the instant deal-breaker.

Yeah I can't say personally. I heard about him dragging those things everywhere from a few different people. It apparently made them pretty uncomfortable. Hell, I'm not even in that state right now.
The story that really got me was about Le Tournament Vert using something to cut through a chain-link fence that was like 6ft tall that everyone else just hops over. And from the sound of it it's not like he's physically incapable of doing so, he's just lazy.
That's pretty pathetic.

Know what we found out?
NOT A SINGLE PICTURE that Xperiment posted was his own work.
He basically just copied everything this guy has ever done, even to his older stuff when the quality wasn't as good.
Everything else was figured out by location data from the guy's site, Google, and the fact that Xperiment was a total troll account, based on SOME things that Le TOurnament Vert has actually done on his own, in real life; which is why most of the stuff he posted was extremely vague, cuz they were of sites he's never actually been to, posting as Xperiment.

I can give a fuck about the 'respect and fame.' I just want to share my real experiences with others of the same inclination. I was astounded by the help given to me by the people who had been here on this forum years longer than I had. Not only did it bolster my confidence in exploring, but it helped me out of my greenie shell. People like you and others here that help new people immensely and it is very much appreciated. I can never say thank you enough to people that help.
