| | | | There are 5 mines on route. One ghost town. Of course the tunnels. Past the bridge are more mines, airplanes crashes, old ski resorts. More dwellings. Great area.
P.S. I dare you to do the whole 18 miles. I did it in two days and got my ass kicked. Plan on three to be comfortable.

| | | | I do a lot of backpack camping so this would be perfect for me. I never knew the road/ trail went that far back. Everyone just stops at the bridge and turns around. The bridge was constructed so the road would take you out to Lancaster but never completed.

| | | | I'm tired so I'll keep it short. THe river forms at a confluence near Wrightwood. Best hike is from the top down. There's Big Horn Mine, the largest in LA County just above. A plan crash from 82 is at the confluence. Nearby are some grave sites. THe best campsites are at fish fork and Backpacker's Dave Cabin. Stanley-Miller mine is a bitch but worth it. 3 times. Allison min is a bitch but worth it. 2 times. Poison oak is rampant the north half. Wash, wash, wash.
