|  | | | I've not been underground for 5 days and was starting to get the shakes, my eyes had adapted to being above ground and my skin was no longer translucent so I had to find somewhere dark and cool to hide from the midday sun
As I was in Stockport I decided on Brinksway deep level shelter

| | | | You are just a jump from those great slate mines in north Wales. I was there last year and had an amazing time. Got to spend some time exploring around Blaenau Ffestiniog. Would love to go back for a few years....  Some of the most beautiful countryside I've seen in my lifetime.

Three hours? Shows how poor my geography is... That said, three hours is about average out here for a trip to most of the bigger mines. None the less, I loved my time there and hope to have the opportunity to return.
