travelling through france, anybody else doing the same?

Hey there fellow urban explorers, its been a long time since Ive been here! About 8 years to be precise... anyway once again I am travelling through Europe, at the moment I am in Pontarlier and am soon going to head towards Besançon then to Dijon and then Paris. I have my bicycle and am planning on riding part way as well as catching trains. I noticed there are some amazing caves near Pontarlier and Besançon and this got me thinking... maybe there are some urban explorers around who could show me some places? Last time I was in Paris I was lucky enough to stay with BHV (I think that was his name), one of the cataphiles and had the most amazing time of my life. If there is anyone who could show me around again or has a spot on the floor for me to sleep on I would show much appreciation, do dishes, buy beer etc.

I'll be leaving pontarlier probably tomorrow, and will perhaps be in Dijon in about a week or two, then Paris in about another week or two, although this is a rough guess as travelling by bike with a big backpack is slow-going. Look forward to hearing from anyone! Peace

rust in peace...

Just a bit of an update.

In the last town Besançon I found a great site to explore... a 5 or so storey building which was big enough to roam around in for about 5 hours and I still didn't see all of it. Was many stalactites and a few rather big stalagmites, heaps of awesome graffiti from presumably local artist 'nacle' and enough dangerous holes in the floor to induce vertigo regularly. Was a thrilling experience and even met some local explorers who pointed me in the direction of another spot in Hayange. Really was nice to eschew the regular tourist stuff I've been doing up to this point in favour of some dingy atmosphere and the familiar experience of hanging out in a place which was one quite grand but had turned into a dilapidated wonderland.

I'm currently in Dole. Its nice and touristy and I'm happy to just wander around getting happy snaps for a while but I'm sure I'll be hankering for some more urbex soon. Will be riding to Dijon probably in a few days, then am undecided where to go after... maybe Paris, or maybe I'll just head north toward Hayange.

rust in peace...
