A few weeks before I attempted to sneak into this incinerator but I couldn't find an entry. Yet I was able to find one now through all circumstances. There were a few workers at the site, they did not seem bothered by our presence. Me and my friends found a hole on a garage door. It was delightfully an unexpected exploration.
The place was surprisingly dark compared to the Dickson incinerator, this was larger and more complex. There are way more floors and rooms to check out. The control room looks like something carved out of a sci fi clip from the seventies. One particular room was dripping like it's raining, once you got to the roof you will realize why it's dripping. There are less graffiti here, there were fewer striking wall paintings.
Unfortunately the basement was flooded. And so was half the roof, yet it did not stop us from seeing a far view of the mountains and downtown. It's quite a wicked view.
We were running low on batteries (we were unprepared and used only cellphone lights) our exploration was cut short
Well until next time.:p

you been pumping out the spots lately!

so overall, which incinerator do you prefer? this one or dickson? I think im leaning towards dickson cause of the tim hortons on the corner.

I think it must have been 8 or 9 (maybe 10) years ago.. they had some sort of exhibition in that incinerator (rosemount) .. I think it was a sound related thing similar to what they did in the wellington tunnel. Silophone might have been made by the same people.. (and is a permanent installation) I think the group behind the silophone and the wellington tunnel thing they did (which lasted a few days) was done by people from france who did similar stuff over there if I remember correct. Im not sure about the rosemount thing though... or if that even had a connection, however it seems like it would.

I have yet to explore the whole complex at Rosemont, so far I prefer this incinerator because it's quite huge and the Montreal skyline looks very neat from this angle. Plus the mickey d is a walk away
Thanks for the new information about the silophone, I learn something new everyday ;)

It was done by Quartier Éphémère

I remember very well that exposition, it was pretty cool, with inflatables modules and such.
