first the background. me and my friends were walking through the woods up the side of one of the mountains bordering dijon. after an hour or two of walking we came across this clearing with military signs posted all over it but with no fence. we came across several shells of buildings, tagged to shit with graffiti. just a little troubling we came across a decent amount of ejected shells and several raised parts of earth, like a backstop for a firing range. we found the remnants of a bunker surrounded with barbed wire, and even more unsettling was the amount of actual bullets we found in the raised hill thing. in a mere 3 minutes each of us had picked up around 30 bullets. by bullet i mean the part that actually shoots, not the shells. the hill was absolutely covered in bullets. the area we were in was clearly some sort of military compound at some point, because we found the foundations of a wall that could be clearly followed around the buildings and firing ranges. enjoy the pics! wasnt much of anything in the building so i didnt rly bother with composition. these are more just we were here kind of pics

What was unsettling about finding bullets in a range backstop? :/

That casing you are holding appears to be a blank.

the unsettling part was that it appeared that people came up there regularly and just to shoot off pistols and rifles on a clearly decommissioned military site. and regardless of that one casing being a blank, we found thousands and im not exaggerating, thousands of bullets on the hill.

Nice. Reminded me of something I did a few years back...

<<<screen wobbles back to 2009>>>

The other place that I had a slight success was with the old Wonthaggi Rifle Range which is now ironically found in amongst a bird and water reserve.

Coach's notes

Targets from top photo used to hang here

Taking a shot at the #5 target

And it's a direct hit!

I even found my bullet (notice small bullet holes in dirt mound)
