Some more info on the site.

From Wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Argus_(Australia)

'The Argus building, constructed in 1926 on the corner of La Trobe and Elizabeth streets, is classified by the National Trust and is on the Victorian Heritage Register of Heritage Victoria.[1] In 1991, an innovative office building was built next door and named The Argus Centre, an award winning building by Nonda Katsalidis.[2] In 2004 La Trobe University bought the site of the old Argus building with the intention to redevelop and house legal and business schools in the building, as well as a ground floor shopping precinct.[3] Due to the emerging costs associated with renovating the building, La Trobe University sold the site for $15 million in 2010 to Shesh Gale, owner of the Melbourne Institute of Technology who similarly intends to convert the site into an educational facility'

Abandoned for years, access is on and off. They recently used the space (Genius/Argus Building) as part of the Melbourne Music Festival. A few years ago they used the Melb Town Hall organs, one of the best things I have seen the hall used for. The organ was hooked up to midi controllers and an mpc, guitars and a drumkit to play the organ. Fantastic visuals and a great show. Was called 'DisOrganEyezed'

Another shot of Argus building at night.

Good building for a beer at lunch time!

It's got scaffolding on the outside at the moment, and surprisingly enough, a security guard that actually checks the scaffolding for occupants

This place was rad

Once things get political, they want us to stop shooting and start dancing.

There currently doing construction yet the building isn't sealed off completely just yet- now would be the time to go before they finish renovating the bottom floors
