This is a perlite "mine" (above-ground only ) I visited recently.

Not too exciting, but it's kind of cool to see the operation up close; the scale of some of the components is massive.

I can take the time to scan the prints in separately if they're too hard to see.

(Shoe next to the rock crusher is for scale.)

This is very cool. Did you go onto much of the structure and walkways? Looks pretty dilapidated.

Tons of mills/crusher sites like this around these parts. Always fun to visit.

Huh? Looks in awfully fair shape to me. Hell, a lot of small time active mining operations look drier than this place.

Interesting. Was this in Florence CO by chance? We get big bags of the stuff here for agriculture and aggregates from the mill out there.

I like it's lonely thing out in nowhereness. BTW...havn't heard the word 'perlite' since I grew a crop of weed in an attic a decade ago.

Some, but not the top: overall the place is in fair shape, but the upper part was pretty rickety and rusty.

No, NM
I haven't been to Florence, though it's not far from the beaten path; anything to recommend it?

(Sorry, I don't know how to respond to multiple messages on one post.)
