Exploring new worlds at the FESTICLE. (November)

Last Saturday was the November spectre Festicle in Atlanta. We had a bunch of new faces and a few we hadn't seen in a while. Thanks for coming out. I had a good time and I think everyone else did too. This was my first real chance to use my new lens too, so here are some photos.
enjoy.

First location:
What a surprise. The most over explored location in Atlanta..
a1:

a2:

a3: I'm pretty sure everyone who's been here has this shot.

Next location:
A few weeks ago there were film crews shooting a movie (The next Hunger Games).
I explored and shot a video while they where still there, So I thought it would be interesting to see what they left behind. It turns out they left nothing, but they did clean the place up in the areas they had been filming. Some of the spray paint had be covered or removed, and even one side of the train car had been painted silver with fake rust here and there.

b2: Don't step on something labeled "Bitch Hole".

b5:

Last location:
c1: Parked out front.

c2:

c3:

Your turn. If you attended lets see some photos!

This festicle was great. It was nice to see some new places and new faces. Also had a subterranean near-death experience. What more could you ask for?

Everyone's favorite ever-changing elementary school.

Newly abandoned school. Only a couple years of decay. Used by a few film crews.

This bird was not excited to see us. Took a few minutes to get him to stay still.

6.

It's a beautiful morning for trespassing..

7.

Not UE related, but this was behind an the school. Fall is gorgeous this year.

8.

Finally, the underground wonderland.

Curious to see Revolution's photos of this place, I couldn't get much in the dark and only a couple areas had lights..

I'm not sure how screwed we really were in those tunnels, but by God did it ever feel like a near-death experience.

Just because of the frustration I dealt with with my slow-ass lens (18-200mm, 3.4-5.6G), I'm intending on investing in a 17-55mm f/2.8 for Christmas. Eager to give it a trial run at the January meeting if I have it by then. Fingers crossed.

The lens is a 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM
Its EF-S meaning it only works on crop bodies. Optical, quality, and... price-wise its on par with canons L series lenses with the added Image stabilization. If you shoot crop body canon DSLRs and want an awesome, yet somewhat pricey lens then I highly recommend it.

tl;dr
ef-s 17-55, but ssssoo awesomeeee brooooo....
