| | | Sometimes you have to make sacrifices to save things... I mean, It's not like Gates was hidden from the public eye, or in a super top secret location. However, knowing that there are people that know about UER now, that aren't interested in UER for the soul purpose of being a mega bad ass... does sort of suck... But hey, It's not like it was with ill intentions that UER got put in the spotlight.
However, the author of the article is a moron... when they talk about UER..... some people just don't understand/appreciate urban exploring.... [last edit 8/16/2012 2:56 AM by Snipe_Hunter - edited 1 times]

"You two should go urban exploring together. Find some copper, whoo-hoo!" yep that's what we do. steal copper. we also graffiti and burn shit because we hate the places we explore.
"Is that the entrance to the drain?" "Yeah" "It's right behind the police station." "Oh. Maybe we should go to a different one..." |

| | | What are everyone's views on graffiti? To me, it sometimes completes the derelict effect of some urban decay. Some of it is in very good taste too, while others...not so much. I remember the roof of Gates had some wicked awesome looking graffiti. What really grinds my gears is dickweeds who have poor taste and tag their shitty names everywhere like asshats. I myself don't do it because I'm not very good at it, but I can respect people who are good at it. If urban decay isn't an appropriate spot for graffiti, what is? Well, technically speaking nothing, but when have technicalities prevented people from doing things? As for pillaging for copper, that's sort of a pirate/hobo thing to do. Our motto is clear on this, and I feel really confident about myself when I also don't feel like a douche. [last edit 8/19/2012 4:02 PM by miirkat - edited 1 times]

| | | Whatever happens with this, that kid has my respect. A few years ago I dreamed about doing something similar, but was of course too lazy/wimpy to give it a shot. Props, man. Also, it's kind of hilarious how bewildered everyone in the piece (and comments) seem about UE. Like it's the most confusing fucking thing they've ever heard of. "What? Go into an abandonment just to look and take pictures? You're not going to steal shit or vandalize it, just look around? DOES NOT COMPUTE."

I don't mind seeing graf (it can be quite awesome), but I have a personal rule of never doing it while exploring. I feel like if I did get caught, having paint and such would probably make things considerably worse.

| | | What's kinda funny is the fact that most of the exterior graffiti at Gates was done with permission...! http://www.youtube...atch?v=pb48awdK87E
