This got sealed up the old school way with steel plate instead of expanding foam. Those groovers sure got around!

Ok, I was mistaken. Haven't been to this one. I've been in so many. It's hard to keep track of them all. Thanks for the heads up Dr. Zaius. Hope to go exploring with you sometime!

This is an underground bunker. One of many along the California coastline.

You're a ding-dong.

I pm'd you with a whole set of these documents. This one I posted below is part of the exact location.

I would have figured you would have found it first.

Oh well, sooner or later, that will get purple foam in it too if too many people keep going to it, since it's actually easier to find than the one they just sealed up. (that is if you know what you're looking for.)

It's a "plotting and switchboard bunker" for a 16" sea coast artillery battery.

It's the room where the Army would do the calculations in order to aim and fire 16" cannons that defend the San Francisco harbor. (Harbor Defenses San Francisco, or HDSF) It's part of a Battery that was built in late WWII. It was never armed, or fired, but the gun tubes where there, just never where mounted. (The war ended)

There where plans to use the Casemate (bunker) structure as a Civil Defense stronghold, but the funding fell through, and was never built/remodeled as such. The reason there is grafitti in there is because before the mid 90's, these structures where completely open, and anyone could get into them. (I know, I have been in there my self when I was in high school), but when the park service decided to lock them up for "safety", they installed steel plates and welded them in place to keep "us" out. That was in the mid 90's. Now they are a mystery to all but a few people who remember them being open, and Fort Nerds like myself, who actually study this stupid shit.
