| | | Hi, A friend of mine is an avid geocacher, and has his birthday on Saturday. With a group of ppl we're thinking about what to give him. One of the things that came to mind was a ladder to reach high places. We were thinking along the lines of a telescopic step ladder like http://www.powerto...um=pricecomparison . But are there other alternatives that are more useful? He is a gadget freak so the more gadgety the better, but it has to be useful as well, so not a hook and rope to rappel yourself up as you don't always have a place for the hook to hang. Any hints?

| | | telescopic ladders are completely brilliant! Got into so many places with it. If you're wearing urban camouflage you can get away with stupid amounts. Only downside is they're bulky and pricey. You you can chain them up like a bike if no longer needed on an explore.

| | | For a geocacher this would have been a great present. A climbing harness would be a great one too, with 50 feet of climbing rope, an ATC, three locking carbiners and a helmet. Or a cache would be a great present as well. A new GPS is always nice, most geocachers have more than on GPS, I have three or so.
