Am I doing anything right? What could be done better?? or maybe the photos are junk.. idk just let me know!

I'm experimenting with HDR in pic 1, I really have no instruction with it so any advice on it would be a great help.

Sorry about the photo size too!!

#1: Way over processed. One thing to remember with HDR is subtlety. How many exposures is this?

#2: The foreground is distracting. My eye hits those stairs and stops. They are out of focus too. I would just move over a little and straighten out the verticals.

#3: Make it straight. The exposure is fine. Just not that interesting to me.

And if you shoot more at Island Station there are a thousand little nooks you can squeeze into that are all more photogenic than random stairways and smashed gauges. Spend more time looking for subjects, and a lot more time just making pictures.
