Couple Shots

Hello everyone! My name is Kara, my boyfriend William and I are sharing this account as we explore together. He's more into the history and actual exploration of the buildings, while I'm more into the photography aspect. I've always loved couples photos in abandoned buildings and have tried taking a few myself...nothing professional of course, just for fun, but I like to try and get an emotion out of every shot at least. Not to mention, it's a bit of a pain in the butt when you're the subject of the photo as well as the photographer. >__< Anyways, just thought I'd share, any feedback is more than welcome! I'd love to hear what everyone thinks. Shot with a Nikon D7000.

- Kara

Great shots, not really sure what emotion the 2nd shot is portraying but good work. Keep it up.

I'm not really sure either, to be quite honest haha. I suppose they don't all turn out how I'd like.

Where are all the "artistic" lingerie shots?

Give a person a match and they'll be warm for a minute, but light them on fire and they'll be warm for the rest of their life. =)

1st one - cropped head :/ Picture brings it's emotion, but it could have been turned out better somehow, for example, you could focus on couple or that green branch.
2nd - i just don't understand this composition.
4nd - great, there's motion in this picture so this couple looks alive !

All of the above

I really like the colour palette in this shots. Nice post process work.

1) Like everybody says, top of head cut off.

2) Great idea. Should've gone a bit wider so you could crop later, -using rule of thirds and put you two on the left third of screen.

3) Good

4) A little underexposed, thus grainy and noisy. I know you want a blurred out background, but if you're remotely triggering (or self timer) your camera, give yourself a bit more depth of filed in case you dont happen to go and stand in the focal range. Focus seems to stop at front part of piano. Although, with a slower shutter speed, you two might be blurry because you were moving.

5) Nice, this is the sorta composition I was talking about for the skeeball shot.

Great idea for a photo series. I wish I could get my wife to do that with me. ;)

Wow, didn't even see that thread -__- Probably would have been way more appropriate if I would have posted there...

To everyone else - your feedback is so greatly appreciated. I'll definetly be keeping your feedback in mind for future shots!
