My First: (Active) Construction Site

---We were standing outside a construction site just to see if we could get in for five minutes...just casing the joint. After sliding through a fence, we noticed some heavy metal (guitar riff) pieces lying on the floor, and took care not to step on them. Then, when we viewed the actual building, it was totally carved out! There was a story-deep pit with endless bits of debris. The pit was created by a nearby excavator that we saw.

---We managed to balance over the pit on a shaky board that workers must've used. The place has got a roof, but getting up the stairs would be too much trouble as the place is near a floodlighted store. The site was exciting but not too fun because there weren't many places to go (considering the immense floor pits and whatnot).

I did learn some lessons in this short voyage, though:
-Always bring a camera if you have one
-Always bring a light so that you don't crash into metal parts and make a load of noise
-Enter subtly, yet confidently
-There is always more than one way. (Whether or not you find an easier way is up to chance/exploring.)

I will probably come back and take some pictures as the floors become more stable just to show how construction is going along.

Sounds like you've got it. Now go get that camera, and bring us some pictures. I would like to see this pit you speak of.

Is the poop deck really what I think it is?

Even better, bring two! If I want to take pictures I'll bring my DSLR with me, but I always keep my small point and shoot in my backpack so that if my batteries die, or I forgot something, or if I'm just on a scouting mission, I can still take snap some shots.

I went there today but the camera I took along was shiite and couldn't perceive anything in the dark. The pit is the one non-floodlighted area. I'm also too afraid to go come morning because people are about and construction dudes may be working... I'll find a way, though, don't you worry.
