| | | Posted by Tamara Just tell your mom where you plan on going, and that you will be home by a certain time. Then come home by that time and tell her how neat it was.Show her pictures. Do that every time. Eventually she will just want to know where you might be if you dont make it home by what time you are expected.

This is how it happened for me. My mom thinks its cool.

Why? Going into place that are that hard to get in are usually a good thing. A lot of the time it means its untouched inside. Some of the time no, but majority of the places ive actually had to 'break' into turned out to be worth it.

Like I said, trespassing itself is not really a big deal. B&E is. A B&E conviction also follows you for quite a while. I have a 38 year old buddy who got caught B&E when he was 17, and he still can't come with me to see a Bills game because they won't let him through the border. If you're willing to live with the consequences of the more serious charge, then have at it. Just be aware that it'll be that cloud that hangs over your head for a while that can cost you a mini fortune to get rid of later. I'm more than happy to let someone else do it for me and take that potential rap... I'll use the POE later, thanks.

| | | If you get caught, don't panic!! It happens, but try to avoid it at most costs, obviously. If you come across an irate scrapper/ gang hideout/ meth lab/ bum wielding a chainsaw - run away and try not to make any noise in doing so.

| | | B&E is a felony. Trespassing is only a misdemeanor. Hence, if I can't get into a place without tearing something off/unlocking something/etc, I don't do it. As for getting caught, honesty is the best policy. Tell them you are taking pictures. I think most authority figures would be happy enough just to find out that you aren't using the building to shoot up drugs, rape children, or practice your tagging skillz.

A few of these I've started to notice become quite a bit more frequent. The only gangs I've come across are just teenaged Mexicans smoking weed, and claimed to belong to "XIII." But I've heard of meth labs showing up in basements of UE sites and the like in the area, and scrappers are surprisingly frequent. Never ran into any chainsaw wielding bums haha, but if you run into a number of people out numbering you or somebody with potential to do you harm, just get on outta there.

| | | Don't forget to laminate a few cards with your Name and personal information, and put one in each boot. This will assist in identifying your body later if you become disarticulated, or if there is trouble in identifying you by dental records. Always have backup plans. Since, as Tams says, you will likely become trapped in a place with the people you are with... make sure they're of the opposite sex, and cute. Or whatever you're into. Don't take whiners. Everyone seems to think you have a car. You probably don't. But if you do, don't let someone think they wanna steal it. Bash in the doors with a pipe wrench, discard a couple hubcaps. Splash paint and feces on it. Who wants to break into a car that looks and smells like shit, right?
Okay okay, some of that may be a little far. Maybe.

Yeah but no one's gonna steal a nice car, those are WAY harder to find. I mean, a cop could easily locate your stolen Rolls-Royce as opposed to a Honda Civic.
